Boss Media casino software review...

Boss Media started developing casino software in spring 1997 and launched their first casino (Gold Club - owned and operated by Boss Media) in the same year.  Since then the company has grown considerably, and now has over 100 employees, and is one of the industry's most respected names. The company’s head office is in Växjö, in southern Sweden. Boss Media’s shares have been quoted on the Stockholm Stock Exchange's O-list since June 24, 1999.

Boss' great strength is their software's super graphics.  They produce arguably the best playing interface of any of the casino software developers (with maybe the exception of Wagerlogic).  The games look awesome and are very easy to play.  They also offer multiplayer versions for most of their games.

Another feature of Boss casinos seems to be their high limit gaming.  Most Boss casinos, including the 4 above, offer bet limits of up to $1000 per hand, and higher limits for VIP players on application, making these casinos a logical choice for the high rollers out there..

Game range and playability...

As mentioned above, the Boss games are awesome, in terms of both graphics and playability.  One of their main weaknesses though is game range.  At the end of 2002, the entire Boss game package comprised only 14 games.  And while they do offer the favorites (Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Video Poker, Craps, Caribbean poker, Pai Gow Poker, Keno, and Slots) their range falls well short of some of the other big players (eg Microgaming offers close to 100 games!).  Boss offers only 1 Video Poker game (Jacks or Better), and 4 slots games. Clearly some work needs to be done here.

Getting started...

The Boss download is offered in 2 forms, the Blackjack only load, or full game compliment.  The full compliment will take you close to an hour to download on a 56K connection, so hopefully you're a Blackjack fan!   They also offer Java Blackjack in case you can't wait for the download.  The account management/banking options make opening your account, depositing/withdrawing quick and simple tasks.
